How does DERMAPEN work?
DermaPen uses its own physiological skin regeneration capabilities. During the treatment a micro-trauma is created in the skin – i.e. channels are left after the needle punctures. An intrinsic protection mechanism activates secretion of the growth factors that stimulate skin cells to produce collagen. At the same time, new skin cells are formed. The new mass fills the channels formed by the needles and thus increases its total volume. Collagen makes the skin firmer and more elastic. The recovery process takes up to four weeks.
The channels formed are also often used to inject nutrients into the skin: for example, blood plasma, hyaluron and vitamins. Up to 80% more active ingredients are applied into the skin this way than by simply applying it to the surface. Nutrients can significantly enhance the healing rate and overall treatment result.

Is the treatment painful?
At a puncture depth of up to 0.5 mm, the treatment is almost painless. Overall, it is minimally painful due to the high frequency of automatic punctures. If necessary, anaesthetic creams may be applied prior to surgery. This makes the procedure completely painless.
How long does the recovery take after treatment?
After treatment, expect your skin to be reddish for 12-48 hours. Mild haemorrhaging or scabs may occur at some places. In a week, the skin should totally be healed.
How long after recovery can I undergo DermaPen treatment?
It is best to perform DermaPen 1-2 days prior to the injection of a dermal filler. Wait 1-2 weeks after application of the dermal filler until the skin has completely healed at the application site.
How to take care of the skin after the DermaPen treatment?
Appropriate care after treatment is recommended by an expert. Generally, serum that corresponds to the problem for which the treatment is performed is recommended, for example, serum containing hyaluronic acid and vitamins. The skin must be continuously hydrated. You are not allowed to touch the dry skin. Of course, protection from UV radiation must be ensured to avoid complications in the form of pigment changes. The next day you can use a breathable make-up.
