How Aptos thread lift works
If we look at the lifting thread under a microscope, we can see lots of tiny teeth on it. When applied, these catch on "obstructions" (ligaments, septa) in the fatty tissue and help to pull. The structures provided by the face are used.
Aptos threads combine polylactic acid and polycaprolactam P (LA/CL). As a result, the threads are absorbed more slowly, up to 1.5 – 2 years. This allows for a solid connection between the thread and the tissue and the formation of sufficient new collagen fibers. This guarantees a lifting effect and effective long-term support for soft tissues.
The course of the Aptos lift
During a thread lift, the doctor introduces lifting threads into the subcutaneous tissue using a thin needle to firm and lift various contours in the face. The procedure is almost painless, performed under local anesthesia only, and usually takes no more than 30 minutes. After the thread lift, the client goes home immediately.
After the procedure
Immediately after the application, the treated area may be slightly swollen and bruising may appear. However, these usually disappear without problems within a week of application.
During the first 14 days after the application of the thread lift, it is advisable to avoid visiting the sauna, steam room or solarium and to limit physical activity and exercise. Also, do not schedule any cosmetic procedures or facial massage during this time, as well as non-acute dental treatments or dental hygiene.
In some cases, the administration of antibiotics and/or analgesics may be appropriate following a thread lift.
Effect and durability of the APTOS thread lift
The result of the treatment is immediate and is further enhanced over the next few months as new collagen fibres gradually form and the thread grows into connective tissue.
